THE SOUTHERN GROWL BEER COMPANY began as a taproom in 2014 with a small space and 60 craft beers on draft. It was created with the simple goal of sharing Founder and Owner Matt Bowes’ love of craft beer and devotion to outstanding customer service. Over the years, continued growth involved tearing down walls and adding a craft kitchen. Then, in 2019, The Southern Growl built a new facility to expand the kitchen and taproom, plus added a production brewery with ample outdoor space.
The brewery sources local, certified craft malt from Riverbend Malthouse and premium American hops while constantly testing analytical and sensory data to ensure customers drink the best beer possible. The Southern Growl Beer Company has been honing its recipes on the commercial scale and selling all of it through the taproom for over two years. All of us at The Southern Growl Brewing Company are ecstatic to continue showing the world how great SC beer can be!
