DOMAINE LA BARBOTAINE
Loire, France
Three generations of passionate winegrowers. The Champault have succeeded each other for more than 3 generations to perpetuate the tradition of their vineyard.
In the heart of France, in the Center region, the Sancerrois is located 200km south of Paris, on the banks of the Loire. A hilly region with a typical cuesta relief, it is as pleasant a a visit as its wines are typical.
The operation is the heritage of the parents and grandparents who were winegrowers: Frédéric Champault, the current operator of the estate, is the son of Roland Champault, and the grandson of Louis Champault, all winegrowers. He moved to La Barbotaine in 1994, then working with his parents on the estate. He then took over the exploitation of the vines of his father-in-law Lucien Dauny, winemaker in Les Epinières, in the same town.
