CHATEAU LABASTIDIE
Gaillac, France
TChâteau Labastidié, a 19th century property, was given a new impetus in 1990 when the Conseil des Echansons de France and the Musée du Vin Paris fall under the charm of this vineyard property. It is in 2007 that they decide to buy all the shares of Labastidié.
Here one of the last parrot presses present in France is exhibited, as evidenced by the inventory of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Burgundy in December 2004. The parrot press was used from the end of the 16th century until the end of the Nineteenth century. This rare wine-making machine is a monumental piece that belongs to the collection of the Museum of Wine of Paris Council of the Échansons de France.
